The definition of global warming actually means the rising of the temperature in our planet due to excessive release of carbon dioxide and other harmful gasses into the atmosphere. Besides that, another definition of global warming is anthropogenic global warming which means increase of temperature due to human activity. These gases come from cars, factories as well burning of fossil fuels which lead to global warming.
As these gases accumulates and gets trapped on the atmosphere, it restricts the movement of the heat rays from the sun that are reflected back by the Earth’s surface. This will cause the heat to stay in the Earth’s atmosphere thus making our environment warmer. This will cause sudden climate changes in certain areas. Global warming also has an adverse effect to plants and living creatures.
As by the definition of global warming, the carbon dioxide cycle will also be affected because plants convert carbon dioxide into carbohydrates with the process of photosynthesis. Therefore due to extra emission of carbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, it poses serious problems to the carbon cycle, resulting more carbon dioxide is forced into the atmosphere.
As by the definition of global warming, the heat will cause plants and animals to go into extinction. Besides that, it will also cause severe droughts to happen that will cause people to starve and get diseases. Moreover as by the definition of global warming, it will also increase the occurrence of forest fires which will increase the amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, thus making it much warmer.
As per the definition of global warming stated above, the average temperature of the earth raises which will cause glaciers and icebergs to melt. Animals such as polar bears living in these cold regions are getting endangered due to global warming. As the glaciers and snows melt, it will cause the sea levels to rise at a shocking rate. This will definitely cause floods and cyclone to happen in coastal areas. These floods and cyclones will destroy lives and properties of people in the coastal areas.
According to the definition of global warming, the sea and oceans will also get warmer and this will have severe problems to the plankton’s population and growth. This will certainly have an effect on the migration of animals and fishes that feeds on these small creatures. As the sea and oceans gets warmer, some of the animals that migrate will have problem to mate and feed.
According to the definition of global warming and what it does to the environment, we should act fast and spread the knowledge of global warming to everyone. Although the governments of the world are slowly responding to the effects of global warming, we can also make an initiative to help the environment with many ways. For example, you start using renewable energy such as solar or wind energy and stop the usage of fossil fuels. Besides that, you could also help to combat global warming by encouraging the people around you and yourself to recycle, reuse and reduce.
