Human Mistakes That Leads to Global Warming

The accumulation of greenhouse gasses in the Earth’s atmosphere is the main cause of global warming. This massive build-up came from the long centuries of human old habits and activities in conjunction with bad government policies on fossil fuel suppliers that do more harm than goodness.

Here are the top human mistakes that have led us to the current situation of global warming that have no solution to reverse them.

1. Economic Development – The economic growth has become a cultural obsession throughout the world. For instance, consumer products are designed with obsolescence to improve sales and profits that provide wealth to individuals and country. Because of this, resources are depleting and wasted and energy are being used adversely that causes damage to the environment.

2. Poorly designed and bad quality properties – Older housing and buildings are considered as energy inefficient because they are built with poor levels of insulation and zero passive solar heating. In addition, most of these houses are unable to revamp to retrofit with energy conservation procedures to reduce the use of fossil fuels. Many of these houses and buildings are made with solid walls, single pitched roof, single glazing that are still heated by electricity.

3. Overpopulation and Food Wastage – According to the United Nations, they predicted by 2050, the food production needs to be doubled to achieve the demand of the world’s increasing population. Since most farming lands are already in use, farmers will have to use better techniques to increase their production that involves requires fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, more fossil fuels are needed for transportation of food goods throughout the world. These actions will certainly increase the release of greenhouse gasses. Examples of such countries are China and Indonesia.

The issue of global warming can’t be solved by a single individual, but it can be mitigated and controlled by informing the people about its effects and causes, while providing practical and coordinated solutions and policies.
