Global warming is the greatest environmental problem humans faced in this present day.
It is defined as the increase of the average temperature of the Earth’s surface. Global warming is caused by massive pollution of greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide and methane from human practice and activities. In fact, scientists predicted that the average temperature will rise up to 6 – 9 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century if global warming is not reduced in a large scale.
But, how do you educate your children about the issue of global warming through global warming speech?
First of all, tell your children that global warming causes series of chain reactions or events that has adverse effects on the living creatures in our planet. Tell them that their favorite cute animals, beautiful plants and landscapes will cease to exist if global warming gets worst. For instance, global warming causes the ice and glaciers to melt, which leads to the depletion of habitats and scarcity of food for polar bears in the icy regions. Besides that, you could also tell them that many animals in Africa will die due to ability to adapt with the increasing temperatures or lack of water to drink.
Through global warming speech, let them know that global warming also causes severe weather conditions in major parts of the world. Support your facts with videos available on Youtube about the dangers of global warming. Let them know that global warming are the major causes of drought, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and heat waves. For instance, you could tell them that in 2003, heat waves caused more than 20,000 deaths in Europe or the existence of Hurricane Katrina is linked to global warming.
Remember that they are just kids, therefore by all means, you should avoid using jargon and technical terms when giving your global warming speech. Or else, they do not understand the causes and severity of the effects of global warming to their future.
