Global warming is not a new occurrence caused by greenhouse gasses that increases the Earth’s average temperature; in fact it has begun since the Industrial Era that dated back centuries ago. A warmer Earth can alter the patterns of climates, causing more rainfalls or droughts in certain countries which lead to their extinction and the rising of sea levels. Many scientists now are very concerned about the future of mankind, and predicted that the average temperature is likely to increase up to 2-10 in the next 100 years.
Hence, teachers and parents must play their part to educate young children about global warming. There are several ways to teach children about global warming. For instance, you can encourage them to borrow books related to environment and global warming from the library or conduct global warming projects to give them a deeper understand on the issue on global warming.
Through global warming project and education, the younger generation will be more economize on energy usage within their schools and homes. They might come up with their own energy saving plan which will do something positive about global warming. With the understanding how human-made activities and practice contributes to global warming, they will grow up to be more responsible individuals that will recycle, reuse and reduce to curb the effects of global warming.
