Global warming politics involves many elements of different views and facts on political debates, policies and legislation regarding the science and nature of global warming and human responses to global warming. Generally, the issue of global warming has been involved in many different scientific organizations, government bodies and several interested groups. The reason behind is because the governments in many countries fear the predicted effects of global warming and they have combined forces to stop the effects of global warming.
The most remarkable changes because of global warming politics happen on December 11th 1997 with the creation of the Kyoto Protocol. It is the protocol created by the international Framework Convention regarding the issue of Climate Change with the intention to reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses that causes global warming. On the end of 2007, over 175 organization and parties have affirmed to the protocol. More and more developing countries are expected to join in the treaty in the foreseeable future.
In certain countries, the issue of global warming politics is being debated whether or not global warming is really that hazardous. Though most countries are taking actions against the prevention of global warming, others however, argued on the scientific facts on global warming or just failed to mitigate global warming mainly due to economic growth and other various factors. For instance, on the year 2007, Congressional Democrats acknowledges that global warming is caused by man-man problems and activities while only 13% of the politicians in the Republicans party agreed. Even certain organization and groups in the United Kingdom and Canada are skeptical about the issue of global warming.
But then, over 195 cities in the United States have unofficially committed themselves to reduce greenhouse up to 7% in the year 1990. That percentage represents at least more than 50millions Americans contributing the cause. If all the countries in Europe, Asia particularly Japan and China and Australia are committed to reduce greenhouse emissions, the Earth will last longer for many generations to come.
