In most cases, global warming causes warmer climate regions to be lack of moisture. Without moisture, plants are unable to grow and any living creature will suffer dehydration and the food chain will be greatly affected, causing scarcity of food. When this happens, the average human health will weakens due to lack of energy, nutrients and minerals to ward off sickness and viruses such as malaria and dengue. As proven by the past decade, countries like Africa and South America have reported a number of cases of outbreak of diseases.
Besides droughts, global warming is also one of the major causes of floods and hurricanes on certain regions across the globe. Floods also contribute greatly to the spreading of diseases because the water quality in urban areas is contaminated and dirty. Citizens are expected to suffer from food poisoning, diarrhea and other hygiene related diseases.
It has been proven during the year 1993 in the spring, when an event struck in New Mexico caused many people to die to an unknown disease that deteriorates and attack the respiratory system of the people. As a result, more than 400 people were dead to this unknown virus. Then, researchers and scientists gave a name for this virus called Hantavirus which was a result of 6 consecutive droughts and heavy rains in New Mexico. Scientist believed that the sudden climate change aided the virus to expand hastily throughout the whole country.
