Global warming is not a 20th century rare occurrence. The definition global warming means the temperature change that is happening around the planet we all in live in, but these temperature patterns has been increasing lately due to the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Although the definition global warming is said to be as so, early studies indicates that during the evolution of industries and factories early in the 1900’s caused a major change in the temperature patterns that are troubling researchers and scientist. By definition global warming is gradually heating the atmosphere with the accumulation and holding of greenhouse gases.
As by the definition global warming, the Earth’s atmosphere will cause severe climate and weather condition changes that are bound to happen. The main culprit that causes global warming is the carbon dioxide. As we all know, plants or trees absorbs carbon dioxide from the air to grow and it releases carbon dioxide whenever it dies or decays. In the past decades, is it proven that many trees have been chopped down and burnt for housing areas and other activities. These acts will increase the amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Therefore, by definition global warming takes into note that the deforestation are one of the main causes of global warming.
The effects of global warming are even more catastrophic. It will cause glaciers to melt more rapidly which raises the sea level causing floods and Tsunami that destroys lives and properties in parts of the world. Besides that, global warming also increases droughts in areas like Asia and Africa, causing agriculture to fail as the land gets dryer resulting in starvation and diseases. Besides that, global warming can also increase the occurrence of forest fires which will also increase the amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. As forest fires increases, plants and animals will be going into extinction.
However, we all can help to combat global warming and its effects if each and every one of us aims ourselves to this common cause. By knowing the definition global warming, we can reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and other polluting gasses into the atmosphere by cutting down deforestation and encourage replanting. Besides that we can use renewable energy sources in offices and homes while decreasing the usage of non renewable energy such as fossil fuels.
